Children's Church on a roll!

We are excited to announce the new ministry model for Children’s Ministries, which we are calling "Revolve!" This innovative program will instill biblical principles and understanding in our 3 to 12 year olds in a fun and fulfilling way. In this rotation program there are four rotations or workshops where children learn different aspects of the story (including but not limited to): Science, Art, Cooking, Video, Bible Discovery & Games. Children start out in the Fellowship Hall for a gathering of Praise and Worship. Then the children will be met by the teacher for the workshop they will be attending that week, and taken to that room. These workshops are a way to help us teach the Bible more creatively and more effectively. This workshop philosophy recognizes that kids not only love repetition, but they need it to develop a lasting memory and understanding of content. Children will have a hands-on experience to learn more fully what the Bible teaches. This is an approach that taps into the natural talents of the congregation to make Bible learning last for the children.

The lessons for August will be:

9 a.m. – Moses: The Wilderness Journeys
Theme: Children discover the many times in Moses life he had to lead the Israelites with faith and trust in God. They learn how God delivered the Israelites from slavery in Egypt with the plagues and progress through the provision of quail and manna. They come to learn that through the many obstacles in life God is always there and will continue to provide.
Games: Children will play an active game that emphasizes God’s provision of manna. They will also play a board game that reviews the main points of the lesson.
Cooking: Children will make “manna” as they learn the story and memorize the bible verse.
Art/Music: Children will make tambourines like those of Miriam and Moses and learn the song Miriam sang after they crossed the Red Sea.
Storytelling: Children will experience the complete story through dramatized storytelling.

11 a.m. – Elijah: God Cares For You

Theme: The children will learn that Elijah’s time away was a time to strengthen his trust in God; bigger challenges were coming in Elijah’s life. They discover how God answered the prayers of the people in the Bible. They will also learn God still cares about us and answers prayers today. God provides for His children when we are obedient to His word.
Games: Children will play various board games that emphasize God’s provision and the memory verse.
Cooking: Children will make Raven Cookies as they learn the story and memorize the Bible verse.
Drama/Puppetry: The children will learn how when we have faith and are obedient, God will provide as they make flapping wing raven puppets and act out the story of Elijah and the ravens.
Art: Children will each make a Raven with a message in its mouth to remind them how God provided food for Elijah.
