We invite you to Sunday School!
Jesus commanded that we “... go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19). And that is exactly what we aim to do! Our vision is to seek and save the lost – but our responsibility doesn’t end there. America has become a Biblically illiterate nation. We simply don’t take the time to study to show ourselves approved, as Paul advised. Bible sales are strong; recent research has shown that 90% of U.S. households own at least one Bible. But surveys show that fewer than 20% of those who own a Bible will ever read it through. This lack of Bible reading is not limited to “nominal” Christians, either. According to surveys by the Barna Research Group, only 14% of evangelicals read the Bible at least once per week. The Barna Research Group also found that: · Fewer than half of adults can name the four gospels. · Many Christians cannot identify more than three disciples. · 60 percent of Americans can’t name five of the 10 Commandments. If we can’t name the commandments, how can we expect to keep them? That’s where Sunday School comes in. While this crucial ministry is disappearing in many American churches, we can assure you that it will continue at the King George Church of God. In fact, we want to see as many people in Sunday School as we see at morning worship. Now, more than ever, the believer must be able to rightly divide the Word of Truth. That’s our goal at Sunday School. We provide Sunday School for children and adults, with children meeting in their own age-specific classes. To have a class for every age group requires teachers who want to share the love of God with believers of all ages. We have openings from pre-school to young adult – are you ready to make a difference in these lives?
